SLODOG is an organization of California Central Coast residents who engage in different activities with their dogs. Our overall goal is to promote responsible dog ownership. We train and exhibit our dogs in a variety of disciplines, e.g., agility, obedience, therapy dog; and, encourage high standards of sportsmanship. A spirit of camaraderie highlights all our activities. This group strives to educate the public as to the proper care and training of dogs as pets, companions, and working members of the community. In so doing we sponsor public events that demonstrate to the community the many benefits of responsible dog ownership. Whether flying through an Agility course, walking the Obedience ring, or, sitting with residents at a local rest home, SLODOG members pursue activities that build trusting relationships with their dogs. Our members enjoy dogs and strive to develop them into positive family and community members. We do not offer formal lessons or training. Rather, we offer practice sessions on a regular basis throughout the year. We also provide formal competition opportunities. We are an important networking resource for our members regarding numerous local training centers, seminars, and canine activities. JOIN US You are welcome to sit in at our monthly general meetings, bring your dog to one of our practice sessions or planned events, and/or contact the members specified on these pages.
